Klein, Joseph B. Walther, How do people really seek information about others? The present research describes the manner in which individuals use various media in the interpersonal information seeking process. Two hundred and twenty-five participants responded to a survey about this topic, and they reported a greater likelihood to seek information about less-known targets using channels where they would be unidentifiable. However, participants reported a greater likelihood to seek information about more-known targets using channels where they would be identifiable. Channels such as social networking websites were frequently reported to be useful regardless of whether the target was well known or less known. Properties of these channels and their implications for interpersonal information seeking as well as theoretical implications of these findings are discussed and directions for future research are examined. Walther and Parks suggest that some modern relationships have outgrown the theories used to help explain and predict them. The fact that researchers have done little descriptive work in this field underscores a general gap in the CMC literature; although there are a growing number of channels that people can choose to use, little is known about what media choices people make for various interpersonal goals.

However, this concentration on the user has meant that the field has lacked a systematic exploration of other aspects of recommender system outcomes.

The IAEA statement in September followed reports from the Associated Press quoting what it called a classified IAEA document saying agency experts agreed Iran now had the means to build atomic bombs and was heading toward developing a missile system able to carry a nuclear warhead.
